Laurent WILGA LERAT aka LOLEK was born in Boulogne near Paris on May 14th, 1984.
A precocious artist, he executes his first drawings and pastels at the age of 10 and exhibits his first bronzes at the age of 12.
Today his nudes do not shock anymore nor do they offend anybody. But back in the beginning, in secondary church school, his teachers not only reproached him the erotic aspect of his art but also considered that he lacked talent and that his drawings were too simplistic.
Throughout his already long career, Lolek’s art shows an innate sense of equilibrium and of generous curves. His slightly provocative expression of carnal sensations makes him a very talented and quite remarkable young artist.
Some of his bronzes reveal our animal urges.
In 2004 Lolek gets his high school scientific diploma but decides not to pursue his studies and to dedicate himself entirely to his passion.
He starts to paint with pastels finger-crushed on paper, then works in “lost-wax” bronze. His works show a unique technique enhanced by high quality sheen.
Originally, with no definite technique mastered, Lolek created the refined and opulent forms that made his sculpture easily stable.
This “artistic immaturity” turned then into his own personal style and became his artistic signature, inherent to all his work.
His works are rated at Akoun & Drouot’s in Paris. Send the curriculum vitae.
